Join us below for this 1on1 with the KingâŠ.King Xerox đ
Whatâs your background before NFTs, have you always pursued art?
Iâve been drawing since I was 4. Mom says, Iâve used walls, bed sheets as canvas when I couldnât find anything to draw on. I have a bachelor degree of architecture. When I was young Iâve been told that making a living out of art was impossible so I chose a profession closest to art, but I worked as an architect for only 5 years. Iâve been working as a comic artist for many years for European and U.S publishers. I also make acrylic paintings.
How did you come up with your artist name 'King Xerox'?
Thatâs a good one⊠My son always calls me âkingâ⊠My favourite brush set on photoshop is âXerox brushesâ from Kyleâs ps brush collection⊠âking Xeroxâ came out from those two words.
How would you describe your pieces to potential collectors?
My Tezos pieces were rather individual artworks with their own stories. I wanted to let people know how I feel about web3 through my artwork, so thatâs how my ethereum journey startedâŠ
What do you think is the most important skill for an artist to have?
For me, the most important skill that an artist should have is to be consistent and open to all kinds of criticism. I see that sometimes artists get easily offended by criticism. Let me give you an example. When I start to mint my first pieces, some guys told me the animations were too fast. I really didnât notice they were at the time. But when I slowed them a little, they looked betterï By consistency, I mean, an artist should not easily give up after failures. You should create first of all for your self. If you create for your self, you never give upâŠ
Can you walk us through the idea behind the creation of each of your Objkt collections?
The most important thing why I started to create animated gifs, is that I love the idea of âchangeâ. You can give the feeling of âchangeâ with a simple gif in glitchart. In one single gif, you can see 6-8 versions of the figure I createâŠ
Are there any benefits for having the Crusader, Warrior, Commander and Champion role?
I airdropped many gifts for the roles before. Iâm planning to reward both the eth and the tez roles in the future ï
What impact does social media have on your work?
Social media has the most effective role, especially on nft artistsâ career. Things would never be the same if there wasnât social mediaâŠ
How does glitch art speak to whatâs happening in the world today?
Not actually only âwhatâs happening in the World?â but glitchart is an art form that you can Express any idea or a feeling in the simplest way.
Is there a particular community or person who contributed to the initial growth of your collection?
Indeed⊠There are many⊠But especially https://twitter.com/TheRealGVG has an enormous role in my nft career. This thread would give you an idea;

Is there something you know today that you wish you knew in the beginning of your NFT career?
Good question. I always tought my comicbook style was too complex for glitchart. So I kept my art style it very simple and primitive at the beginning. But they have their own assets on their own way ï
What role do you think an artist has in society?
I always think that the first role of an artist is to âprovocateâ⊠If you get the viewers attention to the point you want to make, your mission is accomplished.
What's the best piece of advice you've ever received as an artist in the tezos space?
I see many artists quit too early for not making sales⊠Consistency is the key. At one point they must be sure that theyâll meet a collector resonating with their pieces⊠Another thing; Iâm ok with getting inspired by iconic artists⊠But at some point, artists should find their unique style and go on with it. An artist can not make so far if he/she is not original.
Do you believe your art has evolved over time and how?
Absolutely. As I said before, my concepts and styleâs getting more complex with each piece I create. I always experiment⊠Thatâs an essential.
How do you stay motivated when working on a piece thatâs challenging?
Another cool question⊠Especially my eth pieces are rather challenging and take a bit more time. I give regular breaks for not getting bored and exhausted⊠Good music during working helps a lot tooâŠ
What are some artists on Tezos that inspire you?
There are so many but If I have to new a few;
What do you like and dislike about the art world?
In rl, what I hated most was the middleman you have to know to get your art recognised⊠But by the second renosainnce(nfts), If youâre a good artist and something to tell, noone can stop youâŠ
What is the best tool that you can't live without?
Photoshop, lol
What are your hobbies outside of art?
I make acrylic paintings and work outâŠ
Lastly, do you have any spoilers for your next release?
Hereâs a spoiler ;
